Mr. Appliance and Master Samurai Tech started collaborating in 2016 to bring effective and affordable training to the Mr. Appliance family.

Six years and over 900 students later, we recently revised the program at MrAppliance.tech. Not only will there be expanded and updated versions of some of the courses, the enrollment options have been streamlined.

Here is a summary of the new Master Certification program that began on April 1, 2022 and how the transition will affect anyone already enrolled at the Mr. Appliance Academy. (There is a comparison with the current program at the end of this page.)

To earn Master Certification, all 5 courses must be successfully completed.

Two Steps to Master Certification

Instead of enrolling in all 5 courses at once, we have broken it into two enrollments. This helps with budgeting, and it also limits the owner’s loss if a tech does not make it through his initial training period.

However, the goal for every tech should be to complete all 5 courses and earn Master. Having the best-trained techs in the business was the vision behind the Mr. Appliance-Master Samurai Tech collaboration.

Step 1: Enroll in Core Appliance Repair Training
Tuition: $325
All techs should start with this course, whether they are a novice or have experience. It starts a new tech off with a strong foundation, and fills in knowledge gaps for the more experienced tech.

New Perk: Techs enrolled in Core will receive a free 6-month Student Membership at Appliantology (this is a one-time membership).

Step 2: Enroll in the Advanced Bundle of courses
Tuition: $670
These four courses give a deeper dive into the technology and operations of each type of major appliance, and additional instruction and practice in electrical troubleshooting using the schematic.

Perks for earning Master Certification

Upon successfully completing both Core and the Advanced Bundle, and earning Master Certification*, Techs will receive

• A custom-printed Certificate
• The privilege of wearing the Master Certified uniform and patch
• The free Alumni membership at Appliantology, eligible for annual renewals

*For Master Certification, student must earn 90% or higher on every quiz and exam in all 5 courses.

How will this affect students currently enrolled in the training courses?

Students currently enrolled in Bundle 1, 2, or 3 will see little disruption other than noticing that some new units or a new module have suddenly appeared in some of the courses.

They will continue to have the option to enroll in the Oven & Range or Washer & Dryer courses individually by contacting us.

The requirements for Master Certification will not change for them. Students currently working their way through Bundle 1 will only need to complete those 3 courses to earn Master.
