You’re called in to fix the oven in the schematic below. The complaint is no bake. You see that the range control board is showing the correct time of day and the controls respond to button presses. You disassemble the inside of the oven just enough to get some eyeballs on the ignitor and see that it’s not glowing at all when bake is on. In your plan of attack, your first move is to:
Major points: The board has power and has no obvious malfunctions at this point. The ignitor is not glowing when bake is on.
In general, what would you want to test for first? (Don’t worry yet about where you would put the probes, etc. Just say in words what you’d want to look for.)
