Hi Keith,
What we use is an extension cord with the female end chopped off, the wires split apart, and then terminals crimped on the ends for easy connecting.
Make sure the extension cord is rated to deal with the amperage of the appliance you’d be using it on.
Some people will add in-line fuses for safety.
