    You need the circuit resistance (or circuit power) since we already know the source voltage. BUT, couldn’t we skip this initial calculation altogether by using an ammeter or by using Amperage ratings?

    As a follow up, should we ever trust the power or current ratings given at loads to add up to the circuit’s totals? Should we be open to possibly finding total current ratings or total power ratings in specifications?
