You’ve got most of that correct.
Voltage drop is created by current flowing through a load. So if there’s no current flowing, there’s no voltage drop. You may measure voltage across an open switch (or failed-open component), but it’s potential, not drop.
We don’t ask you about the voltage in the element branch, just what happens to the current. We do ask about the voltage drop across the fan motor in the other circuit.
You’re answers about current in the two branches and overall from L1 are correct.
