    “voltage” is basically the difference in electrical charge between two points.
    A voltage drop across a load is produced when current flows through that load.

    Does it help if we combine those two sentences?

    “A voltage drop across a load is voltage (a difference in electrical charge) that is produced when current flows through that load.”
