Voltage drop is an EFFECT of current flowing through a load, not a cause. (Source voltage is what prompts the electrons to want to move in the first place.)
We really tried to emphasize this point – the critical thing you need for current to flow besides voltage – in several units of Basic Electricity. Look again at units 2 and 4.
